Do you have any recommendations for couples’ devotions? My FI went to the Christian book store today to look for some good devotional books for us to start. Today some Christian parents believe that their most important role is to teach their children to be obedient and to respect authority.If they fail to do this, they think their children won’t respect God’s authority and will fall away from the faith.Relationship experts Ben Young and Samuel Adams, authors of The Ten Commandments of Dating and The One, give user-friendly tips for nurturing your personal walk with God and enhancing your spiritual connection as a couple. It's filled with shallow, amateurish theological statements and trite and/or stretched analogies.
Instead, a good parent is supportive, sets a good example, offers comfort and care when a child is struggling, and guides the child as parent and child each try to live lives “worthy of God” ().
Such parenting can take on an air of infallibility, become harsh and demand absolute submission.
Spending time in prayer and Bible study is a great way to build a strong foundation for your dating relationship.

I've been working in youth ministry in some capacity for roughly eight years, and this is one of the most common questions I've fielded from young Christians: “How can (insert boyfriend/girlfriend) and I have a Christian dating relationship? ” As often I've heard it, I still love the the heart behind the question.
